Q. Why you are not teaching the letter sounds alphabetically?
A. The letters have not been introduced in alphabetical order. The first group (s,a,t,i,p,n) has been chosen because they make more simple three-letter words than any other six letters.
Q. What will children learn at various levels?
A. In the first level we teach 42 sounds. After teaching the first group they will start blending sounds and segmenting the words.
In the second level we teach 22 similar English sounds with different spellings. They are taught to comprehend a picture.
In the third level Spellings of tricky words are taught. They will finish reading all the 72 jolly phonic story books.
Q. Will there be any home work?
A. No. We don’t give written work. But we ask parents to spend just a quarter of an hour a day and make literacy a part of family time.
Q. Can I admit my kid in between the academic year?
A. Yes. You can. We assess the ability of the child before admission.
Q. What is the duration period for handwriting course?
A. The duration for handwriting course is three months with a daily practice. However the time varies from kid to kid.
Q. When do you start teaching the blending of sounds?
A. After the first three sounds have been taught. After learning `s’, `a’ and `t’, students can now make the words, ‘as’, `at’ and `sat’. As new sounds are taught you can build up the number of words to blend.
Q. When are children given story books?
A. After the first level, the first of four levels of decodable books from jolly learning, providing the best start for children just starting to read.
Q. How many sounds you teach a day?
A. We teach a new sound a day. Every day we revise the previous sounds taught.
